Water coming in? Call first, then follow these steps.
Move furniture and electricals away from the drip, put a bucket under it and, if water is near a light fitting, switch that circuit off at the fuse box. Do not go up a ladder in wind or rain. Call us, tell us what you can see and where, and send photos from a safe spot if you can.
What we do when we arrive
We get eyes on the roof and stop the water first. That can mean a temporary cover, refixing slipped tiles or slates, sealing a split in a flat roof or dressing back lifted lead. Once the roof is safe, we find where the water got in, because the drip on your ceiling is rarely under the hole in the roof.
Then the permanent repair
You get a clear written price for the permanent fix before any further work. Many emergency calls end with a simple repair. If the roof has reached the end of its life we say so straight, and show you photos of what we found.
Storm damage, leaks and flat roof failures
Most emergency calls across Islington and north London fall into three groups: wind damage to tiles, slates and ridges; leaks at chimneys, valleys and lead; and flat roofs on rear extensions that split or lift. We handle all three, 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays.
